Gunnar washing car

Gunnar got to be the model for this one. I like the reflection, which I didn’t realize I had until I saw the photo on my computer.

glass of water

This is a pretty lame attempt. It was late, I was trying to beat the deadline and I had a migraine. So I just snapped the first thing I could think of!

light trails on bridge

For this photo, I used a tripod and a remote for the shutter. It still looks blurry to me but I like the light trails.

rinse water

I washed the kitchen floor today. It has been awhile, see the filthy rinse water in the upper left corner.

Day Five

day five

Another rainy, windy day. I was trying to get an interesting reflection in a puddle. This one turned out the best. I took another one that had more branches (a more interesting tree) but when I got it downloaded the entire photo was not as clear as this one. I admit that I didn’t take my time as I was kind of cold but I still like the photo.

Day Four

day four

This is out my back patio door. We are having a rainy, windy Spring. I was trying to focus on the rain and blur the background so I guess I was successful!

Day Three

Christmas Cactus

This is the second time this cactus has bloomed in the past four months! I repotted it last fall in cactus soil and a bigger pot. It seems to be the change it needed! Also, when I started this blog I had the date set wrong, so Day One really was March 20 and Day Two was taken on March 21…

ISO setting 200, Taken aperture priority to blur the background f/5 which resulted in a shutter speed of 1/80 second.

365 day project – focus on water

Posted in Uncategorized on March 21, 2009 by susanjewett

I am starting a 365 day photo project on the first day of Spring! I have recently heard about people doing 365 photo projects. I am interested in raising my photography to a new level so I am going to try using a photo a day to help me focus on both the technique and artistry of my photography. I also have a concern about the availability of clean and accessible drinking water throughout the world. So my requirement for a photo a day is that each photo contain water somewhere in the picure. I hope to raise my awareness (and others) about how fortunate I am to always have cheap, clean and accessible drinking water.  And to help others others achieve the same thing. Comments and thoughts are welcome!
